Plenty of Fun Things To Do this Weekend in Orange County

Looks like there’s going to be no shortage of fun things to do this weekend in Orange County. A few highlights are the air show,  the auto show,  the start of Halloween events, a food and wine festival , a sand castle competition,  and a San Clemente SeaFest.

  • Win Taco’s for 20 from Wahoo’s to celebrate National Taco Day.
  • Fullerton Haunted Walking Tours start this week and and run through November 2. Tickets required, call ahead for reservations.
  • The Orange County International Auto Show is all weekend at the Anaheim Convention Center. See over 600 vehicles and test drive over 100. Admission required.
  • Boo-uena Park Old Time Fall Festival is Saturday 9/30 from 2pm-5pm. Spooky storytelling, ghostly tours, halloween-themed vendors & more. FREE to attend.
  • It’s the Grand Opening of the masterplanned community “Altair Irvine” Saturday 9/30 from 11am-3pm at Axis and Irvine Blvd. Attendees can tour 27 new model homes and enjoy complimentary refreshments, food and fun!
  • The Breitling Huntington Beach Air Show is all weekend in Huntington Beach. Viewing is FREE but you can purchase VIP seating.
  • The Pacific Paddle Games are all weekend at Doheny State Beach in Dana Point. Watch as SUP competitors race, perform technical feats & more. State Beach fees apply.
  • The 4th Annual Newport Beach Food & Wine Festival is all weekend at the Newport Beach Civic Center. Tickets required.
  • The 40th Annual Ultimate Home and Outdoor Living Expo is all weekend at the OC Fairgrounds. Products, demonstrations & more. Admission required.
  • The 14th Annual Orange County Children’s Book Festival is Sunday 10/1 from 9:30am-4:00pm at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa. Over 125 authors, storytellers, live entertainment & more. FREE to attend.
  • The 56th Annual Newport Beach Sandcastle Contest is Sunday 10/1 from 10am-3:30pm at Corona del Mar “Big Corona” State Beach. This year’s theme is “Pirates of the Pacific”. FREE to attend.
  • The 30th Annual San Clemente SeaFest is Sunday 10/1 from 9:30am-3pm at the San Clemente Pier.  Chowder cook-off, surf contest, fun contests (hula hoop contest, bubble gum blowing contest) & more. FREE to attend.
  • The Laguna Beach Classic Car Show is Sunday 10/1 from 9:30am-3pm on the city grounds across from the Festival of Arts grounds in Laguna Beach. Admission required.

There’s lots to eat, see and do this weekend in Orange County. Surf City Surf Dog competition is back for another year, as well as the Irvine Global Village Festival, OC Brew HaHa, Taste of Balboa Island, Oktoberfest Parade and so much more!

  • Sunset Serenades continue at Heisler Park in Laguna Beach Friday 9/22. Enjoy live music every Friday night in September from 5:30pm to sunset in the Rockpile Amphitheater (by the whale sculpture). FREE to attend. Schedule:
  • Surf City Surf Dog Competition is Saturday 9/23 at Huntington Dog Beach. Watch as dogs compete in a surf competition. FREE to attend.

  • Crusin’ For a Cure car show is Saturday 9/23 from 6am-4:30pm at the OC Fairgrounds. Admission required.
  • The 8th Annual OC Brew HaHa Craft Beer Festival is Saturday 9/23 at Oak Canyon Park in Silverado. Sample 200+ beers from over 90 breweries. Tickets required.
  • Movie in the Park: Watch “The Secret Life of Pets” on Saturday 9/23 at Melinda Park in Mission Viejo. Movie starts at dusk. FREE to attend.

  • The Sugar Plum Arts & Crafts Festival is all weekend in Buena Park at the Buena Park Downtown Mall. Shop for holiday themed craft items from vendors. FREE to attend.
  • The 21st Annual Laguna Beach Pet Parade and Chili Cook-off is Sunday 9/24 from 11am-3pm at Tivoli Too! in Laguna Beach. Admission is $5.
  • The Balboa Island Carnival and Taste of the Island is Sunday 9/24 from 1pm-5pm. Pie eating contest, carnival games, food, live entertainment & more. FREE to attend.
  • The Huntington Beach Old World Oktoberfest Parade is Sunday 9/24. Parade begins at 2pm at Bella Terra and then travels to Old World. FREE to attend.
  • The 6th Annual Taste of Lake Forest is Sunday 9/24 from 12-4pm. Tastings from 20 restaurants, live entertainment & more. FREE to attend. Tasting ticket is $10.
