Lots of Fun Things To Do this Weekend in Orange County – April 14-15

There’s lots of fun to be had this weekend in Orange County. The ever popular Orange Plaza Car Show is Sunday in Old Towne Orange, there’s a surf completion in Dana Point, micro-brew festival in San Clemente, watercraft racing in Huntington Beach, Earth Day festival in HB, and more.

  • The 8th Annual San Clemente Micro-Brew Fest is Saturday 4/14 from 12pm-5pm at Left Coast Brewing Co. Admission required.
  • San Clemente GardenFest is Saturday 4/14 from 8am-2pm at the Community Center. Plant sale, garden flea market & more. FREE to attend.
  • The Bolsa Chica Earth Day Festival is Saturday 4/14 from 10am-3pm in Huntington Beach. FREE to attend.
  • Sand Castles on Main is Saturday 4/14 in Huntington Beach.
  • “Orange County Ultimate Women’s Expo” is all weekend at the Anaheim Convention center. Celebrity guests include Mario Lopez and Teri Hatcher. Shopping, speakers, seminars, and more. Tickets required.
  • Surfrider’s 11th Annual Ohana Day is Saturday 4/14 from 8am-12pm at the Seal Beach Pier. There will be a beach cleanup, surf lessons, marine biology lessons, a bodyboarding clinic, and more. FREE to attend.
  • The Western Surfing Association Championship Tour is all weekend at Salt Creek Beach in Dana Point. Competitors range in age from 8 & under to 50+. Viewing is FREE.
  • The Huntington Beach Moto-Surf & Freeride Exhibition is this weekend on the south side of the HB pier. Check out some exciting watercraft racing. Viewing is FREE.
  • The 24th Annual Orange Plaza Car Show is this Sunday 4/15 from 8am-3pm, in Old Towne Orange. More than 400 pre-1976 Street Rods, Custom and Classic vehicles will be on display. FREE to attend.
  • The Mission Viejo Film of Character movie series continues on Sunday 4/15 with “The Longest Day”. Movie starts at 2pm at City Hall. FREE to attend.
  • Visit one of the many weekend Farmers Markets in OC

Outside of OC but worth the drive…

  • Renaissance Pleasure Faire is in Irwindale through 5/20. Live performances, jousting, shopping, food, and more. Admission required.

  • Fountain Valley “Easter Egg Hunt” is Saturday 3/31 from 8:30am-11:30am at the Fountain Valley Sports Park. Carnival games, bounce houses, egg hunts & more. FREE to attend.
  • Huntington Beach “Easter Hunt and Family Fun Day” is Saturday 3/31 from 9am-2pm at Central Park. Thousands of pounds of candy, Easter Bunny, live music and more. FREE to attend.
  • La Habra “Spring Family Eggstravaganza” is Saturday 3/31 from 8am-12pm at La Bonita Park. Helicopter egg drop, egg hunts (for kids and adults), vendors and more. $2 to participate in the egg hunt.
  • La Habra “Egg Night” glow in the dark egg hunt is Friday 3/30 from 7pm-8pm at La Bonita Park. Call ahead to register. $10 per child.
  • Los Alamitos “Spring Carnival” is Saturday 3/31 from 9am-11:30am at Little Cottonwood Park. Egg hunt, carnival games, food, Peter Rabbit and more. FREE to attend.
  • Mission Viejo “Bunny Days” is Saturday 3/31 from 10am-1pm at the Norman P. Murray Community Center. Carnival games, crafts, egg hunts, inflatable obstacle course and more. Activities cost a nominal fee. FREE to attend.
  • San Clemente “Springtacular” is Saturday 3/31 starting at 9am. Egg hunts, games, food, and more. FREE to attend.
  • San Juan Capistrano “Spring Eggstravaganza” is Saturday 3/31 from 10am-1pm at Los Rios Park. Egg hunts, face painting, games, crafts and more. FREE to attend.
  • Seal Beach “Easter Egg Hunt” is Saturday 3/31 at 10am in Eisenhower Park. Egg hunt and photos with the Easter Bunny. FREE to attend.
  • Tustin “Easter Egg Hunt” is Saturday 3/31 starting at 7:30am with a pancake breakfast at the Tustin Sports Park. Puppet show, animal show, pony rides, games, candy, Easter Bunny and more. FREE to attend (there is a fee for the pancake breakfast).
  • Yorba Linda “Egg-citement Hunt” is Saturday 3/31 at 10am at Hurless Barton Park. Egg hunt, games, face painting, petting zoo & more. FREE to attend.
  • Visit one of the many weekend Farmers Markets in OC (some will not be happening on Easter so double check before you go)
  • Attend a Full Moon Drum Circle Saturday 3/31 at Aliso Creek Beach in Laguna Beach from approximately 7pm-10pm. Dance by firelight or bring a drum and participate. FREE to attend.
  • 80’s on the Bay is Friday 3/30 from 7pm-10pm at Newport Dunes. Richard Blade will be the DJ for the evening. Tickets required.
  • The Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival continues this weekend and runs through 4/12 in Anaheim. Celebrity chefs, culinary demos, seminars, special food items & more. Park admission required.
  • Knott’s Boysenberry Festival continues this weekend and runs through 4/8 in Buena Park. Enjoy over 75 boysenberry inspired dishes, drinks, and more. Park admission required.

8 Ways to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Orange County

    • The Harp Inn in Costa Mesa opens at 7am with a full Irish Breakfast. Throughout the day they’ll be having Bagpipers, Irish dancers, live music, and more.
    • Silky Sullivans in Fountain Valley will have green beer, an Irish menu, live music, and more.

    • Macallan’s Pub in Brea opens at 6am with an Irish breakfast starting at 9am. There will be live music across the street, Irish buffet, and more.
    • The Auld Dubliner in Tustin opens at 9am. They’ll be having drinking games, food specials and live DJ sets.
    • The Shamrock Bar & Grill in Newport Beach will be having a menu featuring 5 Irish foods, live music starting at 2pm, and more.
    • Gallagher’s Pub in Huntington Beach opens at 7am with an Irish breakfast. They’ll also have Irish tacos, corned beef and cabbage, corned beef hash, live music & more.
    • O’Malley’s on Main in Seal beach opens at 8am for for breakfast and will be serving dinner until 10pm.
  4. Take the kids to on a Leprechaun hunt at Pretend City:
    Pretend City in Irvine is having special St. Patrick’s Day activities throughout the day, including an “end of the rainbow treasure hunt”, leprechaun hunt, and more. Admission required.
  5. Get some shamrock shaped cookies and dip them in green milk:
    Blackmarket Bakery in Santa Ana and Costa Mesa are serving up shamrock shaped cookies. The perfect treat to go with some homemade green milk.

    Chunk-N-Chip at 4th Street Market in Santa Ana has created a special Boozy Lucky Charms ice cream infused with Irish whiskey. This adult only treat is available until it sells out.
